BAC invests $100K across Canadian chapters, launching new Alberta Prairie Chapter with $20K in seed funding.

CALGARY, AB, August 11, 2026: The Baking Association of Canada (BAC) today announced a $100,000 investment shared across its chapters nationwide, from British Columbia to Atlantic Canada, including the launch of a new Alberta Prairie Chapter backed by $20,000 in seed funding.

BAC chose to share this news at the SABA Golf Tournament dinner in Calgary, an event that has brought Alberta's baking community together for 51 years. It is a fitting setting for an investment built to reach bakers in every part of the country: a celebration of one region's long standing community becoming the launch point for a nationwide announcement. SABA will continue to run the golf tournament, while the new BAC Alberta Prairie Chapter will bring educational programming and networking events to bakers across Alberta and the Prairies.

Alongside the new Alberta Prairie Chapter, BAC is providing $20,000 each to its existing chapters, British Columbia, Ontario, its CBQ affiliate in Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, to expand the education and engagement work already underway in those regions. Together, the five chapters share the full $100,000.

That level of funding is a direct result of BAC's recent growth, including expanding membership, growing sponsorship support, and two highly successful, well managed Bakery Showcases, and reflects the support BAC continues to earn nationally through its work engaging with bakers and pastry professionals across the country.
